Below is a listing of the different agencies that we partner with to bring justice in our world.
The Dignity Center: A ministry of Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis, the Dignity Center "welcomes and supports persons in poverty on their path to self-sufficiency." We support them by making sandwiches for clients throughout the year.
Hope for the Journey Shelter: A ministry of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Oakdale, Hope for the Journey is the only family shelter in Washington County. We partner with them to give families a place to stay. First provides financial support as well as volunteers and we make sandwiches for clients.
Mahtomedi Area Food Shelf: Housed at St. Jude of the Lake Catholic Church in Mahtomedi, the area food shelf helps families living in the Mahtomedi School District place food on the table. First supports them financially and also by donating food every Sunday.
Solid Ground: Formerly known as the East Metro Women's Council, Solid Ground "helps families build the strong foundations they need to emerge from homelessness into a brighter future."
Northstar Youth Outreach Center: One of our newest partners, NorthStar is a drop-in space in Maplewood where young people, ages 13-24, and their children can come to seek services and safety.Center began as a project of the White Bear Unitarian Church’s social justice committee and a desire to partner with Tubman Resources and Services to help youth in the community. This volunteer-run program is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people.
change for change
Every fourth Sunday of the month, we take up a second offering for one of our mission partners. So, if you visit on a fourth Sunday, bring your quarters, nickels and pennies and make a change giving change!
